Spring Mini Sessions at Persimmon Hollow

Broken Arrow Photographer

Full Feather Photography has teamed up with The Mercantile at Persimmon Hollow Village, to offer photo mini sessions during the "Spring Fling" Arts & Crafts Festival. The Festival will take place on April 12-13th from 9:00-5:00 each day, but we will only be taking photos from 10:00-2:00 on Saturday & 1:00-5:00 on Sunday.

There are many other activities, including face painting, a scavenger hunt, & an Easter egg hunt! Persimmon Hollow is located near 71st & Garnett, behind the Salvation Army store. It is an 1880's village on 3 acres with 30 shops full of antiques, furniture, crafts & other unique items.

"You will feel like you’ve stepped back in time about 100 years to an era that was slower paced, easy-going, and friendly."

Be sure to drop by their Facebook page to see their latest news & events.

Due to the nature of this event, we will not be reserving time spots for sessions. They will be available on a first come, first serve basis. You may purchase a Mini Session ticket from Shelly at The Mercantile store anytime during the fair. Cash, check or credit card accepted.

Our Spring-themed set will be just outside the door of The Mercantile. We will allow up to 3 children per ticket, ages 6 months to 12 years. The sessions will only last about 10 minutes, so we can keep the line moving quickly. If your child does not cooperate within that time frame, you are welcome to bring your ticket stub back another time.

You will receive 1 complimentary digital image of your choice (with print release) via email about two weeks after the event. Additional prints or digital items will be available for purchase from Full Feather Photography. Tickets are non-refundable & non-transferable.

If you have any questions, please feel free to CONTACT US! We look forward to seeing you!!!

Introducing Baby Peyton Ruby!

Ladies and gentlemen, today I have the distinct honor of introducing you to baby Peyton Ruby, who's officially 9 days new!

Baby Photography

Congratulations Chris and Samantha! I was so delighted to share in the joy of celebrating the arrival of this new baby girl. We had a handful of newborn sessions last year, but this was our first one for 2014 & our first time with a little girl!

As you can see from the pictures below, Miss Peyton and I had one of the best sessions together. Her mom, Samantha, prepared for the shoot by making sure their home was warm and cozy, along with applying lots of baby lotion to Peyton’s beautiful skin to keep her from getting too dry. It was hard for me to tell who was glowing more, Mama or baby!

We also made sure baby’s tummy was full and paused throughout the session for feedings. All of these preparation efforts allowed us to have an especially awesome shoot together.

Peyton slept most of the way through the three-hour session. And when she wasn’t sleeping, Peyton was very calm and relaxed. She certainly enjoyed being all snug in our cream stretch wrap. We purchased this one from Beautiful Photo Props and plan to add several more wraps, hats and headbands to our inventory this year.

“It was wonderful!” says Samantha. “I was nervous about her crying, but it all worked out!”

Because the shoot went so well, I asked Samantha if she would share one helpful piece of advice with other mothers planning a newborn session:

“Change baby’s clothes while your photographer is getting everything set up. It was easier because baby can go back to sleep!”

This session was special because I had a new prop I have wanted to try out.

And, it goes without saying, I was really excited to have such a sweet baby girl to model our antique baby scale. Peyton was radiating with cuteness before, but the colors of this set really helped bring out the soft tone of her skin. I'll definitely be using this again in future sessions. (I also have a white one that’s perfect for a new baby boy!)

If you know someone expecting a baby soon, please send them our way! We have some really great special offers and tons of props to choose from for newborn sessions, so please don’t hesitate to contact us for more details.

Claremore Museum of History unveils the Lynn Riggs Exhibit

The completion of the Lynn Riggs Exhibit at the Claremore Museum of History is certainly at the top of my list for outstanding moments of 2013.

I believe Mr. Riggs would be quite proud of the latest developments at the museum. In a recent letter to the community, Chairman Tom Pool, explained that the primary goal of the Museum, "is to preserve and showcase the treasured memories of yesteryear, recognize the achievements of today, educate our adults and students about the community history, and stimulate community involvement in the promise of tomorrow."

Last summer, I was offered the opportunity to submit some of my photographs to the Museum's Exhibit Committee, to vote for a backdrop image that would be used in the Lynn Riggs Exhibit. I could not have been more ecstatic to toss my camera bag in my car and head out scouting the hills of Rogers County!

I compiled over 30 images of various landscapes and scenes, but after much deliberation, we chose the following as our backdrop:

This photo was taken off of a rural road between Bushyhead and Chelsea, just West of the Historic Route 66 Highway. It also happens to be my favorite image from all of the ones I submitted. :) Please visit my website if you would like to see more of my work. I am hoping to upload a gallery of all of the images I took for this project soon.

After we voted on the backdrop image, it was time to start on the construction of the exhibit. I was so honored to have an opportunity to work with Richard Carver and his incredible staff over at Little Mountain Productions. He invited us to tour his facility in September to see the progress of the exhibit.

The photo above shows the construction of the exhibit's cases.

I was pleased to meet this "project supervisor."

On September 20th, I dropped by the museum to find the exhibit coming to life!

I'm glad I arrived when I did, because these fellas worked so fast! If you are in need of professional set and stage design, you should give them a call! Click here to find them on Facebook.

"Richard Carver has a background of over 30 years experience as a senior art director. Richard started his career in 1975 working with national corporations and advertising agencies as a print designer and illustrator. Over the years Richard has acquired over 200 national, regional and local awards for his numerous projects. As a Production Designer and Art Director Richard has worked on over 500 national, regional and local television spots and corporate films providing set design, special effects and the creation of props. When he's not on the set, he designs interiors for churches and businesses. With a creative mind and a knack for creating cost-saving beautiful spaces, he can help you achieve your goals."

And now on to the star of the show...

In early October, the centerpiece of the exhibit ~ the surrey with the fringe on top ~ was delivered.

If you would like to learn more about the Claremore Museum of History, please visit their website or Facebook page. We encourage you to make a donation to this outstanding museum.

"By aiding in this project, you will be proud to say that you had a part in bringing our history alive to everyone that steps through the doors."

As we turn the page to a new year, I want to say THANK YOU to all of the hard working folks that I have come to know this past year. I am grateful to have you as friends and colleagues & I am looking forward to what is in store for 2014!
